i agree with alot of that gazlan, but boot camps for example dont have to be abt thrashing, quite the opposite, they can make kids work and suceed and indeed feel good abt themselves, but some, do and will need more than gentle persuasion to start them on the road to self discovery and self liking and indeed changing them for their benefit as well as society as a whole.
it is a bit like a pack of dogs, you have a pack you have a leader of that pack who demands discipline and compliance to the rules of that pack, this is imperative to their survival and success, you get a rogue who tries to baulk this discipline and these rules he will eventually either be killed by the pack or will be driven out … or fall into line, i know we are not animals but when people behave like them we need to resort to more drastic measures to correct it.
We should all live by rules, correct and decent rules, stuff what the governement want or say they are just liars in the main anyway, we need like u say to be led by example and the example in government is not a good one as a rule and it is making the country more and more dictatorship style with their silly laws and at the same time making it a weedy nanny state it just dont work. Rather than bringing in to schools how to manage finances maybe they should bring in lessons on respect and decency and MAKE kids go out into the community and DO things for others not themselves, help old people help the disabled teach them to be compassionate and kind, and reap the rewards in return, and there is massive rewards once you buy into it,some kids just done get to see this in their home lives, they see selfish parents uninterested parents, even violent and abusive parents and often with very little interaction beyond that. which is sad. Managing money is of course important but in comparison which of the two things matter most ? there is no comparison.27 January, 2010 at 10:03 pm #429701@gazlan wrote:
utter cr ap , what happens in someone childhood me ars e , he may have a brother or sister who are angels , same parents same upbringing, like someone sed earlier , seams the sympathy vote goes to the lil tw@t well what about his victim
and at what age do u draw the line at blaming upbringing , hindley , brady , sutcliff , all where kids once upon a time , blame the parents or whatever happened to them in society ehNo mr sensible……..how can we put a stop to it?? can your tiny little mind disolve that comment???
by having punishments to fit the crimes , simple , even if it means the death penalty
27 January, 2010 at 10:05 pm #429702Well i can see your points…i myself believe that the vast growth in technology has played more than a big part in this, 30-40 years ago children, myself included would go out and not return until dusk, entertaining themselves by all means in the open, now they have become like adults, there ability to take control of technology has far surpassed that of their parents in many ways…….they have now become witness to the most disturbing facts that are perpetrated in this world at the click of a button…..an animal, when it is disturbed may become violent, it will be put to death, humans on the other hand are segragated and locked away….if these humans are treated like animals and released again, then an animal like human they will be…they in turn may have children who, may carry the same deficient gene that caused the parent to be disturbed….. a circle that will never be broken if left to the ` lets beat em sensless and throw away the key mob `….
:?27 January, 2010 at 10:06 pm #429703This is about the length of his sentence, and his childhood has nothing whatsoever to do with that. I dont think anyone so far has even hinted at thrashing anyone. Regardless of our understanding the why the punishment has to fit the crime and this doesn’t

Been done…….doesnt stop it happening again in society by others does it ?

27 January, 2010 at 10:21 pm #429708So whats the answer? You cant not lock them away when they are a danger to society and have committed a crime the same as a pack of dogs drives off or kills a rogue or bad gene if you want to call it that, so what do we do ? kill them ? drive them off alone somewhere? give them sterilization and vasectomy’s so they cant be released and reproduce the bad gene ? what about those that crimes are not as bad as others and are rehabilitated, cos despite us often condoning those that arent rehabilitated and re offending some dont, some find something even in a prison that is far better and normal and gives them purpose than they ever had growing up as sad as that is. I think we need to look at the roots and not wait until the crimes happen, a child who is cautioned, an adult who commits petty crime should we maybe start there and clamp down on them, as is often the case they can develop into worse crimes as often proven ?
not always i know, but what can be done exactly … and as for this 13 year old boy, what do we do with him ? personally i think boot camp and a rehabilitation, a learning in how the correct and decent way to act is, if this fails then he should never be allowed to reproduce or be released but yes be sent away from the pack (society) forever. But i dont think his instant sentence should be death, he is at the end of the day 13 (a child) and although must take responsibility for hsi actions, he is still young enough and indeed impressionable enough to change, but a young offenders place isnt the place to be, he will merely learn more crimes from living with like minded people. As for the technology thing i also agree but isnt that always the case as a child i could set a video player my parents struggled to master, that will always be the case, and i dont feel having knowledge is dangerous reference the what they can see either, knowledge is powerful if directed and managed and explained properly, thats where it goes wrong when it isnt managed not seeing these things, if this was the case the kids that saw what went on in prison of war camps etc would have turned out like the thugs around today and they saw it first hand, they as a rule didnt, the people around them protected explained “managed” it for them as best they could. its confusing whats good and whats not and what to do and what not to do but all we know is what happens now doesnt work.27 January, 2010 at 10:31 pm #429709its confusing whats good and whats not and what to do and what not to do but all we know is what happens now doesnt work.
