xThere is so much I would like to say about this without giving too much personal information away , so apart from been there, done that and got the teeshirt , i can only say that you never get over it ,but as time passes you get better at dealing with it. When it happens you find that you have entered an alien world, one where everything you know about yourself and your life has been stripped away. You are standing on unsafe ground staring into a very bleak horizon.
One step at a time . You also find that in order to take a step forward , you need to take a couple back too.
Little by little , you begin to reinvent your life , do things your way and like the writer says , dont cry because its over, smile because it happened .
Tears are good though ,they are just the emotions the heart has no words for.
