in a whirlpool of youtube links this is a wonderful idea for a thread. Spot on cath25 xx

My auntmaud has just left – tough ol’ east end girl who had miscarriages on the underground during the blitz and all that. She was 90 and although mugged for her pension a few times in recent years (by recent arrivals to this country), kept a tight hold of that bag of hers and fought back well until the strength of her assailants was too much bless her. Her husband, having died fighting for this country during the second world war was not around to help her.

Anyway, they played this cheesey Max Bygraves song in the church. The kind of tune that was popular up the pub of a friday night during the 50’s. And there wasn’t a dry eye in god’s house.

I’m having one poem and one song at my farewell and I know what they’d be too.

Time Of Your Life by Green Day cos it’s my favourite song. But I’d rather be cremated than have a funeral as such.

lol i just remembered one of my childhood fav max bygrave songssssssss goes something a little like this lol

    You’re a pink toothbrush, I’m a blue toothbrush
    Have we met somewhere before?
You’re a pink toothbrush and I think toothbrush
That we met by the bathroom door.

Glad to meet toothbrush, such a sweet toothbrush
How you thrill me through and through
Dont be hard toothbrush on a soft toothbrush
‘Cause I cant help loving you.

Every time I hear you whistle…… it makes my nylon bristle…….

    You’re a pink toothbrush, I’m a blue toothbrush
Won’t you marry me in haste?
I’ll be true toothbrush, just to you toothbrush
When we both use the same toothpaste.

Its one of those things you dont wanna think seriously about.

I have loads that I have out loud said yep….that’ll be the one…. but my funeral would last about 28 days if I had to squeeze it all in and there would be a lot more than just me needing a coffin at that rate.

Ive been taking note of the oldies on a saturday night up the legion…. having spent lifetimes together and still getting up dancing on a saturday night to great live bands.

Seeing the love, there aint really a song in the world to do it justice.

    So………….. back to my list.

    Good thread 8)
