COLOMBO, Sri Lanka – A female suicide bomber blew herself up at the main railway station in the Sri Lankan capital Sunday, killing six people and wounding 95 others, the military and a hospital official said.
“It is a suicide blast on Platform 3. The bomber has got down from a train and exploded,” military spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara said.
Six travelers were killed in the blast, Nanayakkara said.
Pushpa Soysa, a nurse at Colombo National Hospital, said 95 wounded people were taken to the hospital.
“I was near my counter and I heard a big blast. When I looked behind I saw a policeman bleeding,” said Ravindra Pinto, a ticket inspector at the station.
“As I took him and rushed out, I saw many men and women on the ground,” said Pinto, who was not wounded.
A bomb on a bus Saturday killed 18 people, mostly Buddhist pilgrims, in the central town of Dambulla, about 90 miles northeast of Colombo.
Earlier Sunday, a grenade exploded at a zoo on the outskirts of Colombo, wounding at least four people.
More than 700 people have been killed in intensified violence since the government withdrew from a cease-fire with the separatist Tamil guerrillas last month. Civilians have borne the brunt of the violence.

No why do you ask? If your referring to the above information being out of date it was on the yahoo homepage so I assumed it was recent, anyway disspite its age I still think it is an interesting topic to discuss.

i wish all suicide bombers were female. if they all blow themselves up, itll save the taliban a hell of a lot of time… and stones. or whips, or rope, or trucks, or long beating sessions. and itll stop the little sheites from breeding so fast. leave em to it.. ps did you know that they are called black widows ? i saw a picture on the religionofpeace.com site of a 9 year old boy having a bomb vest strapped to him on the day of his birthday. what a loveley set of parents he had eh !!!!! never mind tho theres a billion or so left… :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Not the first female suicide bomber. These Tamil Tigers are not islamists – Al Qaeda, Hamas etc. got the idea from these people.
Incidentally, there was a suicide bombing in China in the last year or two that had no political motive – a farmer blew himself (and others) up in a courtroom because the judgement went against him.
During the Second World War the Russians used dog bombs against German forces at the seige of Leningrad. They strapped explosive packs to the dogs and sent them in among the Germans.
As for Waspish wasps – boiling water down a pipe straight into the nest is usually quite effective, but be ready to run like hell!
