There have been 6 cases of bird flu at the Swannery at Abbotsbury in Dorset. Given the hysteria and mass culling that happened with outbreaks in poultry, why have the swans at Abbotsbury not been culled?
because no one really eats swan, and besides, you dont see doctors culling humans just because theyve got flu do you? :?

Probably because they are just swanning around.
Anyway they belong to HM The Queen so topping them might not be as easy as butchering a few manky chickens – only Jamie Oliver would moan about that.
You cant just go killing the Queens birds… you’d be sent to the tower :shock:
