benazir bhutto the leader of the opposing party in pakistan has been killed by a suicide bomber who first shot her then blew himself up. ms bhutto supported a democratic life with the freedoms that the west enjoy [such as going shopping without either being blown to bits of beaten to death for leaving the house] she was educated at oxford and was a well loved leader. her opponent has in all essence paved the way for the taliban and al quaida leaders to take power of pakistan plunging this already un stable country into a downward spiral of murder and subjugation of all. the religious leaders that want to run pakistan are the same people who want to wage war in the name of a god against us the free west. many people are calling for the prime minister of pakistan to resign, but i doubt he will as he was following orders from his bosses the taliban.we’d better start buying burkhas the jihad is underway..
27 December, 2007 at 6:51 pm #297097I quite liked her, I saw the sky interview 2 months ago and she seemed very level headed and would have been “the people’s choice” and would hopefully had lead the country along the democratic route.
She also knew she was a target and was pretty brave!
27 December, 2007 at 8:49 pm #297098Never heard of her, but then again i don.t really watch eastenders
27 December, 2007 at 10:31 pm #297099This is very sad. Ms Bhutto will be seen as a martyr in the name of freedom. She was courageous – she knew the risks she was taking when she returned to Pakistan.
Today’s outrage, I feel, is going to have huge repercussions. I know we aren’t yet 100% certain it was Al-Qeada or similar who did it – it could have been a lone fanatic. But Bhutto was the most popular political figure in Pakistan. If it was Al-Qaeda, and they had any master plan behind the act, it is likely to increase anger towards the unpopular President Musharref during this period in what was supposed to be the lead-up to an election. Musharref is likely to be forced into taking unpopular action as Pakistan faces civil war. After they’ve watched the ‘show’ for a few weeks, I wouldn’t be surprised if the terrorists have another go at killing Musharref. If they succeed, Pakistan will truly be in turmoil. A nuclear power with a population of 164 million, rudderless, with Al-Qaeda and Taliban training camps dotted about, Kashmir dispute with India. Which foreign powers will get sucked in? India ( which has a muslim minority not much smaller than the total population of Pakistan? USA? Russia?

The American government funded the murder of bhutto.
Bhutto was someone who was set to stabalise pakiland, even though she was currupt in her early days. The Americans need pakiland to help al’queda pose a “threat” to us, to scare us and bhutto was in the way.
Interesting she was murdered juuusssst BEFORE that musharaf was set to step down…
Made me larf today when gordon bunker brown said “This atrocity strengthens our resolve that terrorists will not win there, here or anywhere in the world.”
Does he know he’s part of the new world order to control us, meaning, the new world order has certain control accross the world…he’s not the world’s president, is he.

28 December, 2007 at 2:54 pm #297102Once again we see the voice of moderation and sound common sense silenced by the fanatics, is there no end to it?
28 December, 2007 at 2:54 pm #297103This is a tragedy where the people are trying to assign blame. If one stays in reality, part of the blame must go to Bhutto herself for sticking her head out of the top of the car when she knew there were people who wanted to kill her. The other part belongs to the killer and those who supported and planned the assasination.

You’d better give your heart and soul to new labour, because the “terrorists” are coming to get you
2.7 MILLION on sick benefit, ONE MILLION more dependents of the STATE than 10 years ago.
Put your faith in the dictatorship, tell them you want them to “protect” you from “terrorists”.

You say she was to blame, her people would call it bravery in the face of constant threat. There arent many people like that, and thats why she was so popular.
