Just wondering what the general opinion is of the vastly improved Ranger? I’m perhaps bias but I think he’s a star – probably our best player right now and some of his play has been a joy to watch.
If you don’t rate the SPL (as I’m sure some of you will point out regardless of the fact that I know already) then look at his performances for Scotland, especially against Italy. I’ve heard speculation about Liverpool, Newcastle & Man United – though I’d take £9m from Sunderland – so is he good enough for the Premiership?
My opinion – no, leave him alone. We want to keep him!
I think Hutton needs to keeps this form up for a few years, then people can say he’s the real deal, because before this season he was playing like a Dumpling.
Lee Naylor had a great season last year, but this season he’s been rank rotten, so it’ll be interesting to see if Hutton can continue this form.
I have to echo those sentiments, until Smith arrived Hutton had been blowing hot and cold with his performances and his temprament can still be called into question – nothing wrong with that but he needs to learn to compose himself when the red mist descends. Wasn’t far from a red card against Falkirk.
Another year or two of good football at domestic and international level would serve him well but players are always going to be in demand when they’re playing their best football.
