I suppose Scotland were due to fall flat on their faces sometime, just a shame that it had to happen at such a vital stage. I was hoping we could go in against Italy with a bit of breathing space but we’re looking good at home so who knows?

Not looking too good for England either after the result in Russia – could it be that none of the home nations make it?

I know. I left work early to watch them both. We were both so close a few days ago but we suddenly have a mountain to climb. Scotland have to beat Italy and as per usual England not only have to win but also rely on other teams losing.

    Same old story.

Im looking forward to the rugby on Saturday though, and we have the old firm derby this wknd too.

I rushed home from work too – finished at six and wasn’t wearing good shoes for walking quickly, especially up a steep hill. Wish I hadn’t bothered!

It’s strange how one result can change the course of the entire campaign for both.

Looking forward to the Old Firm game as well, looks like Darcheville won’t make it which is a shame cos he’s just what we need in a game like that.

In some way’s it could be OK.

At least we know what we gotta do now. Playing for a draw can sometimes be harder. Only thing is that the Italians are masters at sitting in, and taking the sting out of a game, but going by our record at Hampden I’d fancy us to beat anyone at Home, and I think we will win.

At the start of this Group if we were told that one last game could qualify us, we’d have taken it.
