Who Are We?
Are we mature adults we like to think we are?
Or are we still children, living in the past?
Why do we judge others by our own downfalls?
When we are guilty, why isn’t the first stone cast?
We say we don’t mind, having a governed land?
We don’t even mind all of the loopholes in laws
We carry our opinions, express them when we feel
But do we agree with all of the wars?
We like to say we understand, all views
We say we accept all sex, creed and colour
We are loyal, and caring, to all our kin
But would we give our life for another?
We disapprove , when we watch the news
And see another murder case
We bow our heads when another life is lost
Do we cry as hard , when the victim is another race?
We put our hands in our pocket, for a good cause
Show sympathy for others who are all alone
We like to tell others how much we care
But do we really, when its not one of our own?
Our world is a mixture and made up of many
But we all hold the same flaws,
The answer to the question ‘Who are we?
We are kind , and considerate, caring and loving
We aren’t selfish and hateful and racist and full of greed
We love our fellow man, and do anything for them,
As long as its not going to hurt us , in your hour of need.
