My youngest was on a pokemon site earlier and there was a pop up on there and he clicked it. Nothing happened but he told me and I explained why he shouldnt do it again.
Firstly my pop up blocker is on, my firewall is on and I have avast as my anti virus running, I never used to get them, bt this last week Ive been getting them alot.
I am in utter shock at the moment because in the last 10 minutes I have been hit with two or three full screen size p/orn images!!! Lucky my boys are upstairs because it was real hardcore suff!
How can I stop this from happening, and will it do anything to my computer?
(Ive only just had the bloody thing fixed!)

(Fixed or set back to it’s default setting?)
Don’t quote me on this one but. . . .
Pop ups are normally allowed by your isp . . . . The nature or content is as a result of some little data miner or some little gremlin in the system.
I run either norton anti-virus (home) or viruscan enterprise with antyspyware module (work) I have never had a pop up?
When dial up connections were used many moons ago they used to be able to re-route your modem to a premium rate number and you would not be aware as it wouldnt re-dial.
Try downloading ad-aware from lava-soft @ download.com this removes any unwanted for want of a better word ‘Klingons’ that may be in your system, Spybot and several others will do the same/similar thing.
See if your anti virus has a pop up blocker and it is set properly along with other settings about security (med-high) in the internet settings and options on the control panel etc etc
Ultimately your ISP is letting them through you should be mailing them and telling them why are you paying to let them have cr/ap like this showing through there ”secure” network.
Like I say don’t quote me on this
