The treacherous Scottish Nationalists are threatening to hold a referendum on full Scottish independence. If there is a vote, surely it should be throughout the whole of Great Britain as this is about the British people potentially losing part of Britain.
However Gordon Brown might save the day. The fact the Britain now has an openly ‘out’ Scotsman as prime minister is likely to steal a lot of the SNP’s thunder.
The trouble is that Britain is now an amalgam of pick n’ mix identies. People are seeing themselves as Scottish, Welsh, muslim, whatever, over and above being British. Even English people are begining to think ‘English’. The British identity needs to be given a makeover. I might want the monarchy abolished and be very pro EU but I would hate to see our island nation split up.

Damn those democratic Nationalists. You’d think they wouldn’t allow people to vote on things.

Well the English Nationalists would vote to get rid, but if the Scottish want independence, who are the rest of us to stand in their way.

Because he doesn’t believe in people democracy, as his fascist government dont believe we should have the democratic right to rule ourselves.
Go home fascist brown!

Thats the problem, multiculturalism doesn’t work.
People are seeing themselves as Scottish, Welsh, muslim, whatever, over and above being British.
That is their democratic right, whats wrong with you?
Even English people are begining to think ‘English’.
You say that like they deny holocausts or something.
The British identity needs to be given a makeover.

What a numpty !!!!
It’s the monarchy – and the fact that we aren’t part of a United States of Europe that ensures our island isnt split up – and our identity lost
21 August, 2007 at 1:41 pm #282825our britishness [if thats what you want to call it] is being erroded at the rate of about 3.000 people per day. thats the estimate of immigrants entering this country every day according to mr browns govbots. the more we dilute our nation the less say we as brits have, until eventually were all multi national and less british. it works wonders for the particularly clever immigrants who always make for the town centres and city centres where they both live and work eventually choking the towns until they control the streets and the areas they segregate, have you all got a similar community all living close to your town or city centre ??? i hadnt realised the facts until i spoke to a uni lecturer the other day in the pub and he explained the plan to me and its scary..just have a think about it,
22 August, 2007 at 5:52 pm #282826Waspish that theory seems to be the same here
23 August, 2007 at 8:55 am #282827I was born BRITISH, I always think of myself as BRITISH. English, Welsh and Scots people are BRITISH just like Bretons, Provencales and Corsicans are French, Bavarians and Lower Saxonians are German and Texans, Californians and Floridans are US Americans.
Northern Ireland is slightly different as there is a genuine split in allegiance among the people, but Scots, Welsh and now English nationalism are artificial dreams of political rabble-rousers who want to destroy the British nation and stir up conflict among its people.
Their efforts would be much better spent on positive things like campaigning to get rid of the monarchy, join the Euro and play a full part in the EU.
