First off – I don’t know any technical terms so if I get any responses please keep them simple!
I keep getting ‘script error’ messages appearing on my screen (there’s two accounts on the PC and the other is fine) If I click ‘no’ nothing happens and if I click ‘yes’ nothing happens (clicking to either continue to run scripts or not) I am also unable to open/delete my emails or open Norton to scan/update. If I try to open Norton to scan or update then I get the error message. Can’t do System Restore as it won’t open and neither will my help and support section.
I have scanned with SpyBot and AdAware and have deleted any errors found. I have Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2.
Thanks in advance

If the one playing up is the user delete that account and set up a new one.
12 June, 2007 at 10:12 pm #273342I’ll see what it’s like tomorrow, I’m hoping it’s just a 24 hour thing. I’d rather not have to set up a new account (as I’ve stated, I’m not technically minded) but if it comes to that, then so be it.

Unfortunatly PC’s don’t often get 24 hour things John, not like us human’s, usually a second account is a user account and depending on ‘who’ it is settings can get changed, rather than hunt them down, which is difficult due to the many changes that can be made it’s far easier to do as I suggested, even for the technically minded finding the faults can be time consuming to say the least, save any of the users pictures or music or files etc to your own files or better still on a CD or USB.
Rather than explain here, I suggest you go to Help and Support section on your PC, type in ‘Delete Account’ and follow the instructions from there, it’s not that difficult to do, just allow yourself a bit of time to do it in.
When done go back in and type Add Account, the Help & Support section is a valuable tool and a good reminder on how to do stuff.
If at the very worse you are unable to delete the faulty account as it may be a second administrator’s account, just set up a new one with a different name and ignore the other.13 June, 2007 at 6:14 pm #273344Problem solved (though I’m scared to say it!) I couldn’t access my help section as it wouldn’t open but I tried to reset my internet to no avail. However, I was able to access a page where I could customize my internet settings and from there I found a link to reinstall Internet Explorer.
Doubtless, if it happens again, I’ll forget all that but so far so good.
