Should Prince Harry Be allowed to Lead his troops in Iraq…???
whats your thoughts…
I think at the end of the day he is still a serving member of the british forces and really shouldnt be held back just because ‘ he’s a prince ‘ he’s an army officer first… but I am also thinking what about his peers, the mad lot out there have already voiced they awaiting with baited breathe for ‘ the young prince’ blah blah blah…
Prince Andrew served his country why not Harry he’s only 3rd in line… and he geniune what ive seen when he’s spoken about army life thats his life, his job…26 April, 2007 at 8:41 pm #268531No Im afraid….. He would be an absolutley fantastic prize for the Iraqis to win and imagine how they would parade their victory online and on tv..Harry would be tortured live….He would be made to say things about Queen and country ..the damage this would do to the moral of our troops (who shouldnt even be there in the first place) and the monarchy would be irrepairable…..( not to mention the fact that it would forever destroy our vision of him.) He would be the main focus of any attacks from Iraq and even though Andrew fought in the Falklands…. It was a totally different war not involving fanatics and nutters. Harry needs to think of the troop he will be leading.. although they will be in enough danger as it is…with Harry leading them their danger will be a thousand times more so…………….
Just my opinion…but one I think will be shared by many just because of the danger he will inflict on others surrounding him
27 April, 2007 at 12:42 am #268532Of course he should be allowed to lead his men. It’s what he’s trained to do, and I’m sure that’s what he wants to do.
The Army knew when he signed up that he could be placed in a situation like this.27 April, 2007 at 12:56 am #268533@Bad Manners wrote:

I guarantee that if for one crazy moment the Royal family had any idea that Harry would be put in this position… under no circumstances would they agree to the 3rd in line to the throne…especially after all the sh ite about Diana ( cheers al fayed) being put in a position where his life was endangered .correct me if I’m wrong )
27 April, 2007 at 1:06 am #268534If someone wanted him dead, all they would have to do is hang around in some of London’s more exclusive nightclubs and simply shoot him.
Or we can all just wait for him to develop a drug habit and die of an over doses.
So I believe it would be “better” for all concerned if he dies in a roadside bomb attack.

What :?: :?: in the same way his mother died :?: :?:    A truly stupider response. …..I have to witness
27 April, 2007 at 3:05 am #268536His mother died in a car crash, after hanging around with a playboy. Get over it.
Question is that is there for him to do?
He can’t just get a normal job.
He can’t backpack around the Europe for six months like most people his age.
With his family the Army was the only choice, but still they’re little freedom for him.
Try remembering what its like to be 21 again, and then think what it would be like to have the press recording your every move.
For most of us embarking on a night out, our mistakes are only remember by our friends, in Harry’s case they are front-page news.
But in this case, I think most of the concerns are coming from the “press pack” and those who make there living from his image. Or do you think they will all follow him to Iraq?
Most of you can’t believe what its like to living in a war zone, knowing that you could be killed at any moment. It will make or break him.
If he doesn’t go he’s a coward and will always be label one not by others but by him self.
Or do you all think it would be better for him to turn into his Dad?
Sweetasbaileez should read some of the stories about his uncles and Father from the 1970’s.
When most of us where living on low wages, bad housing and trying to make ends meet, his Dad was hanging around with a p o r n star.
Its about time the royal family took the same risks has the rest of us and not hide behind there money and position.
27 April, 2007 at 4:29 am #268537Why is he leading troops?

I dont know how long the guy’s been in the Army, but I’d imagine that we in Iraq when he joined up.
He knew we were in a War. His Family knew we were in a War. It’s a bit of a no-brainer that he could been sent to that War, so you’re reply here is nonsense.27 April, 2007 at 8:51 am #268539He would become a huge white elephant. A danger to himself and a danger to his colleagues. And this country would become the laughing stock of the world if he were to be captured and paraded for all to see.
