From a chat I had this evening I didn’t realise that there was such controversy in the sports world over a persons previous gender.

The Olympics Committee say to compete, a trans athlete must wait for two years after a sex change operation. The two year wait is intended to remove any advantage due to size or strength.

It seems like the biggest concern is transgender women that could have denser bones, larger heart and lung capacities and bigger bodies…but on the other hand as a human rights issue theyare recognised as their chosen sex and have every right to participate with that gender.

Do you think transsexual athletes have an advantage?

Oh sorry I have just been informed that it isn’t a sex change operation anymore it’s called sex reassignment surgery…………..wotevaaaaaa!

I think anything with a ‘ Transexual ‘ in it brings out everyone’s fasination about it…

I havent heard of anything like this… Id say being male first then switching to female… the odds would be in their favour more… as the only thing your changing is gaining bigger breasts… swaping the dangly bit for a hatch style job…. hormones to stop the male regrowth of excess hair…. they obviously would have a bigger advantage surely..

I see they also have a Mr Miss World being shown on mainstream TV…

I hadn’t really thought about it until this came up, just assumed if someone had put themselves through a sex change they would then be acknowledged legally by their chosen gender.

From what I can gather after the operation and continuous hormone therapy – which would make the body respond in a male or female way – the Olympic committee made the fairest decision it could by bringing in the two year waiting policy.

Lol @ Mr. Miss World so they have created a third gender.. maybe that is the answer

I just reckon if they can run without waving their hands that only girly gays do (note: girls DONT even do this)…… it is really just a gay thing……. then they can be athletes. If they have to stick their old man up their own bum to do it then that to should not be allowed.

Other than that go for it 8) we aint gonna win no more than we win at anything now so may as well shove them all in there and see what happens……….. roll on 2012!!!!
