This is a story about a child who is 8 but weighs 14 stone “weighting” lol to see if he will be taken into care
This problem has been going on and worsening for years, but the touchy feely liberals have been doing their normal nonsense and the problem has continued worsening
There is NO excuse for kids to be fat, its bad parenting and child abuse, and yet its taken years for anyone to actually come out and call it that even tho its flippin obvious
Maybe now they will start getting kids when they START to become over weight and crack down hard on their parents (ALSO usually morbidly obese) and make them actually do the job of parenting
(DISCLAIMER — This thread is purely aimed at the topic of obese kids and in no way is intended to be a slur or insult to any lazy adults who dont have the will power to control their intiake btw as thats a totally different topic before you throw your KFC bargain buckets off the between, between meal snack tables lol  )

26 February, 2007 at 3:33 pm #262309I saw this on the news this morning. When they spoke to the boy himself, he was barely able to speak, no doubt because of the weight causing such strain on his internal organs, the very little he did say way barely audible dut to his wheezing.
It’s a total disgrace that a child of his age should weigh this amount. It seems tho, that the powers that be have actually tried to do their jobs in this instance, appointments have been made and not kept, not once but several times, she’s missed appointments with him on numerous occasions, she said this morning that it was due to her depression!!!! She said she’s tried to give him healthy foods but he won’t eat it, so she’s given in and made him his favorite meals of burgers, chips, mash etc etc etc……….then has the audacity to moan and say it’s everyone else’s fauilt,,,,,,,,,,,get a bloody grip woman!!! he’s 8 years old, maybe it’s time he stopped demanding what he want’s and did as he was told!
I don’t think he should be taken into care,,,,but I do think it amounts to abuse,,,,,if he were malnourished, it’d be seen as abuse wouldn’t it, so I don’t see how pple can say that this isn’t!
I think something needs to be put into place for the family to enable him to stay within his home environment and placed on a very strict diet,,,,,,,,,,however, if this should fail, as have all other attempts at helping them,,,,,,then yes, take him out of his home and place him into a hospital even,,,,,,,,,as they do with anorexic young girls, until theyre well.
26 February, 2007 at 4:57 pm #262310I spotted this story in today’s papers and thought shall I mention it or shall I not? Looks like that decision has been taken from me.
This kid – Connor McCreaddie – and his mother, 35 year old Nicola McKeown, come from Newcastle. She says that his typical daily diet includes half a dozen packets of crisps, snacks (burgers, chips etc) every 20 minutes as well; and to top it all off, three main meals a day including dinners with FOUR Yorkshire puddings.
To date he has broken FOUR beds and FIVE bicycles because he is so heavy. His mum is really really proud of her little boy and said “When he was a baby I had to give him bottles every hour because he cried with hunger. Now his size worries me sick because I can hear him choking at night and he gets nosebleeds very frequently.”
You just couldn’t make this stuff up could you???

I agree yet some would argue that its perfectly reasonable for an adult to weigh 20 stone
Weird world we live in

There are some people Token who have weight problems, I have every sympathy with those people, for some it’s gland trouble for others its diabetis, and i’d imagine, a whole variety of other ailments.
I’m fortunate, i’m very slim, always have been, I have a high motabolism too so I can’t gain weight even if I try…………….my sister on the other hand,,,,,is the complete opposite. She weighs at the moment, 18 n half stone,,,,,,,,,christmas before last, she had a knee replacement,,,,,she had to lose 3 stone in weight before they would do it,,,,,,,,she did, she got down to just over 15 stone and had the new knee, she’s now back to 18 + and complains bitterly, every day, about the pain in her knee…………I’m as sympathetic as the next person Token, some would say soft as shyte, but do I feel sorry for her, no. Her new knee is carrying 3+ more stone in weight than it should be!!!
Iv’e seen quite a lot of her lately cos of the situation with my mum n the hosp n everything, the amount of food my sister puts away while she’s there would put a navi to shame!,,,,,,,,,,it’s always followed by,,,,,,,,,”I’m on a diet” ,,,,,,,,,,,,,I’d hate to see what she’d put away if she wasnt lol.

But arent they usually ones who are about 17 stone and rising quickly or the same liberal tree huggers who want to legislate so that fat people are bottom of the queue fpr treatment?
All this “its an illness” stuff is nonsense, its physically amd medically impossible to metabolise food you DONT eat, try getting one of these people who claims that to go without food for a fortnight and see how much weight they gain then, bet ya it will be a negative ammount
So, we can deduce from that the fact weight doesnt magically materialise from thin air, or even pudgey, cuddly or fat air infact, it comes from ingested material. So part of cutting weight gain requires the alteration of or reduction of whats ingested, it really IS as simple as that
27 February, 2007 at 7:00 pm #262317I am over weight and i have medical problems,i have tried losing weight but as i am on about 8 different types of medication a day i can`t lose it.I don`t eat take away food and junk food,i can`t eat chocolate. So when i`m out with my family people wil think i do nothing all day but eat, that is so far from the truth.Because someone is overweight does not mean they eat all the time, but in this 8 yr old boys case this sound like that is all he is doing.I hope he gets the help he needs. For his sake and his family`s.
