Hi :D
Something to consider
So if your hard disk crashes you will be up and running in no time ?
Afraid not.
What about the programs and utilities that you regularly use
– do you have the original disks ?
– if you downloaded them from the Internet do you remember the source ?
Can you recall the personalised configurations that you have applied to your software or those simple shortcut keystrokes which you use so often that it’s hard to recall the original method ?
I find backup very important there are a few good backup utilities around and I use one called Acronis True Image version 9 (version 10 is out now) I am not saying use this but it suets me, with ATI 9 i can make a full back up of the partition that holds my OS (operating system-Windows XP) on my Boot/C: drive to another partition on my second internal hard drive, so if my OS fails I can reinstall from my backup archive, if my Boot/C: drive crashes (stops working totally) I can install a new hard drive (format & partition) then load my OS with all its settings and programs.
If your PC only has one (1) hard drive with good backup software you can burn your backup to DVD-R. I have only touched on this subject but it is an important one, for more information please use the links (note these programs are not free)
