when i plug my mp3 player in my usb… it displays the following message
the usb device can perform faster if you connect it to a hi speed usb2 port?
which i can’t understand, as i have usb2 on my pc.. tried plugging it into every usb socket.. one at the front, and the ones at the back that i presume are connected straight to the motherboard…
tried looking this problem up… a few people have had the same problem, but no answers.. there is no updated driver for my motherboard.. my bios settings are fine.. all usb enabled.. can’t see any answer…
anybody got any clues?
12 June, 2005 at 6:21 pm #113147ok, about to update my bios.. looks complicated lol.. so gonna go out for a beer first i think.. and do it half sober/drunk :) more chance of it working right that way
12 June, 2005 at 6:31 pm #113148If your puter is working fine all except for that warning soulie, you can disable the warning from coming up: The warning can be disabled in the device manager. go to control panel –> system properties –> hardware –> device manager –> universal serial bus controllers. under each controller right click on properties and go to the advanced tab. check the box that says dont tell me about usb errors. save and close.
12 June, 2005 at 6:36 pm #113149yeah i know that.. but the usb only acts as 1.1.. not 2… the speed between the 2 is 10x… so i want to get it working right.. cause i’ll be transfering music to and from it very often
its running very slow at the moment :(

12 June, 2005 at 6:43 pm #113151yeah, i have been to that exact forum before and many others.. i went to the creative web site, and they said i may need to upgrade my bios setting.. as even though i may have usb 2.. my bios does not see this
found out by coming to my pc website that a new bios has been created just recently to account for the errors and conflicts with xp
so gonna give that a go later
don’t like messing with the roots of a pc though… asking for trouble i feel when you a novice user
13 June, 2005 at 11:09 am #113152right.. tried to upgrade my bios.. then re booted.. then got a disc boot error :(.. but luckily i made a back up.. and put my old bios back on
according to the medion site. i put in my serial number.. and it let me download the right one.. so not sure what went wrong.. as it seem to give me an inccorect bios.. so emailed them
but anyway… i know its a small little thing.. but its annoying me now, and i won’t be defeated :) this usb thing will be fixed :D
