A 65-year-old man was left trapped down a manhole for 45 minutes while shoppers ignored his cries for help.
Clive Collins was opening his car boot in a car park in Boscombe, Dorset, when the manhole cover tipped, and he slipped down the 5ft (1.5m) hole.

He said: “Probably about 15, 20 people walked by. The more I called out, the less they seemed to notice me.”

    Story here.

People are reluctant/afraid to get involved nowadays. Preferring to walk on by seems to be the norm.

We’ve lost all notion of society, and it’s a very sorry state of affairs.

You gotta wonder why a 65 year old man would decide to jump into a well in the first place. Probably a pervert. I wouldn’t have rescued him.

I would sincerely hope that if your mum or dad slipped and fell and hurt themselves that some good samaritan would come to their rescue!
i think that all those people that walked past that poor man that was in desperate need of assistance are feeling really crappy about their actions and I hope it haunts them. Are we really so self centered that we won’t give aid to our fellow citizens :( ? Nowadays it’s every man for himself. When was the last time you simply said hello to someone passing on the street, or held the door open for someone? I just cringe when I see the attitude that we are passing on to the next generation
