Hi
A big black box keeps popping up on my pc every now and then, just for a second then vanishes – it says on the top of it something like DUNCIS – so fast I can never quite catch what it says.
Anyone know what this is? and if its a bad thing how i get rid?

then open ‘Paint’ press ‘Edit’ then ‘Paste’. You

I appear to be getting the same kind of thing, every time I download Norton updates it tells me that the new virus definitons have failed to install and to try updating later. A black box seems to pop up very briefly when this happens :?
Can`t find anything on Google about it either. :twisted:
Yes that happened to me too – found out its a blank MS-DOS screen that keeps popping up saying DUCINS~1
anyone know how to stop this????
I`ve just uninstalled Norton from my puter and installed Avast instead. Avast found 2 Trojans on my system which neither Norton or AVG found.
Fingers crosssed but I don`t appear to be getting the black popup now.Apparently uninstalling and reinstalling Norton fixes the problem but all folders relating to Norton need to be removed as well.

lol that ‘little black box’ is DOS. When you d/l an update for say norton AV the update is installed using DOS. And dont even try to capture it on ‘print screen’ pml you got no hope.
To see that ‘little black box’ aka DOS, just type CMD in the run dialouge box.
I`ve got no sign of it now but why does it start flicking up all of a sudden?

And yes it happens when i try download virus definitions from norton mostly. But unfortunately I cant uninstall and put it back cause i have 2003 version and have paid for further updates since then so i dont have a copy of the newest version
Lol Dave you got it pml (how many attempts did it take?).
On a serious note you really do need to re-install Norton AV the Update Installer has been corrupted/damaged.
If you PM me i can lead you the way to a fully working Norton AV 2005 Proffesional with worm protection prog but you must have a CD burner and Nero.
