I hail from Finland originally somewhere in my genetic tree not that far back, something like a great, great grandfather.
Can you write how you speak…like we aussies tend to drawl (drool LOL) when we talk? And since when have we had magic fairy correcting our “naughty” words? Coz I DID NOT write cheap wine!!! LMAO13 May, 2006 at 11:06 am #215417@*Dawny* wrote:

Oh dawny..I have a client that has that sort of mix..I could listen to her for hours. It’s so cute. When she gets louder her accent gets thicker as well. LMAO

I have to think… Have you ever watched Formula one on TV? people say that the Finnish drivers talk like machines  true… it’s all about the rhythm and emphasis 8)
we don’t really use letters like b,c,d,f,q,z or x in our language and we tend to add i in the end of every foreign word,
so just like soulie learned earlier we have seksi instead of sex :lol:13 May, 2006 at 11:26 am #215419I used to have another client that was finnish. (I work with the elderly in the community). She spoke English quite well but every now and again she would lip read and mouth what I was saying. TG I didn’t let slip with some colourful aussie language. She adored meatballs. I could never copy any of her recipes coz they were in finnish. LOL. Is it true that some finnish have olive skin? I know its a silly question but my g/father was very olive skinned, told it was from his grandparents.

 actually it is quite true  some Finns have a bit darker skin, but not as much as the Italians for example. I have few cousins that look like they have a year-around-tan some one had once asked if their father is black or something  he isn’t.
I think it’s the Karelian blood…
