Lord Ouseley, who wrote a report on the 2001 Bradford riots, said different racial groups have to play together “from day one”
And what happens if they resist, like 3 year olds do, will you physically make them?
Nursery staff should “discourage separate play” and “help children to unlearn any racist attitudes and behaviour they may have already learnt“, said Lord Ouseley.
At 3? racist attitudes they have learnt at THREE?
Is “lord” Ouseley for real?
OH YES, this is the kind of attitude lefty marxist minds have. They seem to think that their ideology on life is the ONLY way forward, and if it means physically and mentally abusing THREE year olds to get what they want, then that is what they’ll do.
I cant see parents abiding by this, BUT IF YOU DONT MAKE YOURSELF HEARD AND TELL THEM NO, THEY WILL ENFORCE THIS LEGAL ABUSE ON YOUR CHILD.

They will be ‘encouraged’ gently to play with other children who may be a bit different to themselves. I didn’t read anywhere in the report that they would be shouted at (mental abuse) or slapped (physical abuse) if they refused to do it.
I think it’s a good thing and hopefully will stop predjudices forming at a young age.
I have no problem with my son going to nursery and perhaps being introduced to a coloured child and being given toys to play with.

Please note the word “MAY” in my title.
IF a child refuses to do something they dont wana do, as 3 year olds do, what does “have to play together” then mean to you?

‘Have to play together…..’ to me means they would be encouraged to do a variety of activities….eg:
1- they are handed a ball and have to kick/throw it to each other
2- they are given a jigsaw to do together
3- they sit together and are read a story
4- They have turns about on a slide
5- They have a sandcastle competition in the sandpit…etc, etc…or should I be reading a darker meaning into it??? Perhaps you see them being forced at gunpoint to join in a football game?
Most 3 year olds love having someone to play with, I never had a problem with my eldest playing with other kids.
8 May, 2006 at 3:24 pm #214077Squeezy, if a child under these propossed laws refuses to play with another child, what do you think the teacher will do next?

Surely u cant have a 3 year old doing exactly what he or she wants to isnt it the problem in society, that some kids run riot growing up to do exactly as they choose.surely discipline is a healthy part of growing up within reason, obviously.

I’d be asking the parents wtf they doing teaching a 3 yr old to discriminate on the grounds of colour or creed
I completely agree, surely at 3 years of age a child shouldnt know how to discriminate against others, if so i blame the parents. These kids should be doing nice things like playing games and having fun, not worrying about somebodys colour,or how they look.
8 May, 2006 at 4:03 pm #214080Kids only learn racist behaviour from their parents, I am mixed race, my husband is white, my daughter is white, my son is brown, their grandfather is black, their grandmother is white… not once has my 5 year old daughter questioned any of this, and quite frankly I am bored shitless with these posts that centre around racism.

Of course, but were talking about something that they dont have to do, its not an essential part of learning right from wrong, its the lefty fascists version of right and wrong, and thats wrong :D
