I am a gori who is living with a pathan. I am classed as a second wife though biwi number one has not accepted me. My partner is Muslim though he isn’t practicing. I have no religious belief even though i would sincerely love to have the comfort and fatalism which comes with a religious belief. I believe in Evolution and Science but i have an enquiring and open mind. I would appreciate an open dialogue about the many issues my relationship raises and am seeking not only personal advice but also other peoples experiences of interracial and interfaith relationships, cultural differences, racism, traditions etc.
I realise the subject is VAST and could possibly be upsetting or confrontational if handled badly so all i would ask is that this discussion is classed as theoretical not personal if that is possible.

feelings of his first wife totally despicable.
A relationship cannot flourish where there is disharmony.PS I didn’t vote in your poll, but I believe most Moslems and Christians can
live harmoniously.6 April, 2006 at 10:18 am #208378wow. that is a huge subject! but one i would like to be involved with….which might be something to do with me being of British ancestry, and my wife being from a Persian family.
However, I’m not familiar with the terms Gori and Pathan…..can you explain them further please.

Im not anything…. im just me… so quotes like this fly straight over my head (explanation plz).
I’m afraid im a realist and dont believe that worshipping any kind of “god” or following any kind of religion would enhance my life in any kind of way.
From my limited experience with “gods” I honestly thought they were supposed to bring people closer together not push them further apart.
This thread is just another example of how “god worshipping” in any form is more destructive to the human race than constructive.YOU ARE A “PERSON”…. and the sooner we “all” realise that the happy this world will become.

Hi there
Gori is an Urdu word which simply means white. Urdu is a language which uses masculine and feminine forms and therefore most words have different endings depending upon the sex of the word or writer etc but in this case the word Gori means white female. Gora is white male and Gore is the plural.
Most Asians simply bunch all us white folks together and say Gori’s Gora’s or Gore ! Like i’ve simply said Asians instead of Pakistani or Indian etc etc My god how i hate political correctness!
Pathan (pronounced Pataan) is the name of a particular tribe which i think originated in Afghanistan. I’m afraid they haven’t got a very good reputation and are regarded by many as old fashioned and even backwards in their way of life. They are Sunni Muslims which is the more strict Islamic branch. Sorry if i seem to struggle with this but almost everything i say has the potential to offend SOMEONE so i’m trying to pick and choose my words.
Kind regards

i went out with an indian girl once very very briefly when i where about 15 ish, but never worked out
her dad was good about it! he sa me down and just explained to me the differences in his culture and mine and why it wouldnt work for me to see his daughtereven if i see him now he always waves occasionally a small chat and off i go again
6 April, 2006 at 4:03 pm #208385I’ve never been the type of person who follows the different religions tbh.
To me, the only difference between all humans is whether they are male or female.
I long for the day people stop killing each other just because they have different beliefs – LIVE AND LET LIVE!!
