We used to play a golf match every year in Belfast where one guy would stand up after the meal and ‘perform’ that version of Waltsing Matilda, Rubes – even tho most of us had heard it several times, you could hear a pin drop in the room. A VERY emotive poem. All about Gallipoli for those who want to go and google it.
