The Snow got me thinkin….
when did folks stop clearin the snow from their pavements…?? and shopkeepers doin the same…?? I mind when the snow came yrs ago… folks would be out tryin to clear the paths etc… now… No they don’t clear the whole pavement outside their hoose’s… No only the bit at their gates…!
When i got into town 2day… i wish i hadnt none of the shopkeepers have cleared their pavements… I thought they would have to…. or be liable to anyone who falls outside their shop… and is it not common curtisty… its doesnt look good for business….
Just another common curtisty leaving the Human Race eh…. sad.
My neighbours were out clearing it yday, so I didnt bother :lol: :lol: :lol:

well i nearly broke me neck, legs … and i did have a shout at one shopkeeper..!!! ohhh how i do hate to shop at the best of times… but the not clearin the snow away just fuelled me fires lol
lol well they were nearly done by time I stopped staring out the window watching them do that and dig some poor lad that had got his car stuck…. :lol:

Mary, people these days just clear enough to get to THEIR 4×4 monster trucks parked at the end of THEIR drive. It is yet another example that typifies modern day madness of I’m alright Jack. The shopkeepers would only be expecting the little old ladies ( and you of course!) who don’t go to Tesco’s and as they are housebound because no-one has bothered to clear the paths, then they wont be doing much business. Far better to look out and laff at those trying to negotiate the slippery conditions to get the bairns sweeties for after school. You with your dodgy knee and back should have stopped in and complained to those who would listen on JC. I don’t know if there is anyone with any clout reading these boards, but I am sure they will be sympathetic to your plight.
Im sure i read some where ages ago thats the council was asking people not to clear there path ways and drives
Because if they froze you could get sued im 98% sure i have read that

im sure now Pec’s or PB will be better informed than me… but im sure Shopkeepers are oblige to do this… if not ilegal its hould be under Common Curitisy…. i fell on me ar5e twice in the last 2 days… my sense of humour has failed me..!!!
my car got stuck last weekend, as i left it over night as i went out
so in the morning when i went to collect it, the snow had frozen over, another lady was also having problems getting out, a nice gentleman pointed out that sand was avaible across the road
so i got myself a bucket, filled it with sand to start to make a track for my car and this ladys car to get out
untill this grumpy old git shouted at me
“that sand is’nt for your car, that sand is for the pavement, put it back at once”
i got a bit pished of by this remark, so i stated, i pay my council tax, this road is not gritted, if the council are not prepared to grit it, then i shall do it myself with the sand that is there for me to use
he got very funny and thrented to call some man, who ever it was, i’m not sure how he would stop me using the sand
so i told him i hope he slips and breaks his neck :)
anyway my point being, its due to old fashioned oldie people to why this country is such a shyte hole, you are not allowed to help yourself, you are asked to put yourself out for others all the time
if the man said to me, would you gladly clear the path from the old peoples home too
i would have happily have done that, but peoples attitudes and there way of words really put me off wanting to help them
