I think it was Owen who posted something about this film on another thread, and mentioned a scene at the end of this classic sci fi movie.

Towards the end, Edward G Robinson’s character goes into a clinic to end his life, and as he lies on the trolley, he watches film of fields of flowers and the wonders of nature, and the soundtrack is beautiful classical music, not sure, but I recall it was Beethoven’s Pastoral Suite. Anyway, if you were in a similar situation, and could pick a film to watch, what would it be?

I’d like something uplifting, probably a comedy. I think I’d go for something like “It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World”, one of my all time favourites, as it’s about 3 hours of manic mayhem and hillarity. That’s the way I’d like to die………..laughing.

What would you choose? And why?

It’s Edvard Grieg from Peer Gynt Suite No 1, Op 46 I Morning Mood.

I checked up on that Owen, and from what I can find, it appears to be a mixture of Beethoven, Grieg, and Tchaikovsky played through that particular scene.

Ruby, you’ve got to say why?

The Coen brothers’ movies are always good.
