Roses are red
Violets are blue
Satsumas are orange
And so are pumpkins (I love pumpkins, so jolly, don’t you think? Although you can get green and brown ones too but I think they tend to be squashes more than pumpkins….)
Polos are white
Gingerbread men are brown (ish…well sort of a ginger colour really….I’ve got a bit of a thing about gingerbread men too)
Cats are furry
Sometimes they’re purry
But not when they feel poorly
Like you did last night
Hope your head is still attached
And it all ended happily ever after.Poetry isn’t my forté but the sentiment was there.
Feel better soon (or else)
:D
15 September, 2014 at 10:26 am #523753i was going to say Amelia
but im not being awful
I tell you what,im a bit of a poet on the quiet,so can I ,may I,give you a bit of constructive critism please?
I await your response,dead anticipative like.15 September, 2014 at 2:23 pm #523754Rogue I’ll admit it out loud
Of my poetry I’m not so proud
My syntax is naff
I get in a faff
But I do know for sure
I could do a whole lot more
But I’d hate to be a bore
Cos that’s surely against the law
Then I’d go to jail
Which would mean that I fail
Oh and I like Whale(s)
Other swimmy things too – dolphins are great, and otters…I love otters.
But mostly I like cats and foxes….and bats.I’m not sure where I’m going wrong..

Amelia.. I don’t know what to say, other than I’m touched (but then we were always similar in so many ways).
It brought a tear to my eye. The other eye was much less emotional (I read with my left eye, whilst the right is reserved for checkin’ out the ladies. Course the left joins in whenever I see a particularly nice one, much to the chagrin of the right – which wants them all to itself).
I disagree that ‘Poetry isn’t your forté’. I think yours ranks right up there with a Spike Milligan limerick that went something like..
There was a young man from Tralee
Who was stung on the neck by a wasp
When asked if it hurt
He replied, “Not at all
It can do it again if it likes”As for my well-being, well I’m just suffering several of the numerous side-effects (none of which are reported to result in headlessness I’m happy to say) of medication I’ve had to start taking again. I should be fine in a week or so, but in the meantime, all offers of sympathy, extra strokes and yes, even poems, will be gratefully accepted.

18 September, 2014 at 7:35 pm #523756Are you better yet Mr Cat
Have you donned your “better” hat?
Do you feel bright and sprightly
Back out on the tiles day and nightly?
Hope you’re feeling more like you
And a little less like a pile of poo:D
18 September, 2014 at 9:41 pm #523757Amelia’s poems are so moving
but they do sound like Cosy’s stolen odious odes
18 September, 2014 at 9:48 pm #523758whose streets these are I think I knew
His house is in the village too
He will not see me stopping here
To see his alleys full of pooMy little rogue must think it queer
To stop without a cathouse near
Between JC and my dreamy bed
The darkest evening of the YearHe gives his stolen odes a shake
To ask if there is some mistake
The only other sounds the howl
of tomcats out upon the prowlAmelia’s nest seems soft and deep
But I have promises to keep
and howling cats to drive away
before I fall away to sleep20 September, 2014 at 4:52 pm #523759:shock: Wonder’s who’s been blabbing about my nest….
My poetry attempts, feeble as they may be, were sent with thought, consideration, compassion and sympathy……..I also hoped they might rank me up there in Mally’s top 32045 women of all time.
A girl can dream…..
Sigh.
25 September, 2014 at 10:37 am #523760Found me a nest Scep!!
Bring tea.
25 September, 2014 at 5:22 pm #523761I didn’t actually write nest, Amelia. :D
It;’s the censorship system here which actually turned what I said into something much worse – silly censors
but you’re taking it well … the tea that is
