Heard a recent discussion in the chat room recently about how we just don’t make anything in dear old Blighty anymore. It’s an oft-heard refrain and there’s so much of our industrial demise that we can ponder…. But we still do stuff, and some of it’s jolly good.
…. thought this would make a good idea for a thread to celebrate and take a gander at anything that’s Brit made in character. I’ll start the ball rolling by offering Old Town Clothing
These guys make lovely functional garbs that are not susceptible to the vicissitudes of fashion. I’m rather keen on fostering the Popeye meets 1940s factory worker look, these days, so they are right up my alley.
The website’s crap and they take a perfunctory stab at making things for the missus, too (can’t vouch for how suitable they are for the Zara and H&M generation).
Post other things that are British and tip top, please

also brighton rock, where they cunningly made it into a film.Peppermint canes are popular in America. I think they are made using a similar process but not sure if rock is popular elsewhere. Incidentally, are Yorkshire Mixtures popular outside Yorkshire?

Did you notice that there are more pear drops than any other sweet? This is not a random accident: we Yorkshire folk give those away to outsiders; they don’t appreciate the finer things in life

Lol Rusty, I remember there being very few pear drops in the Yorkshire Mixtures tbh :?
Methinks there’s some sarcasm on your behalf there, about Yorkshire Folk being ‘tight’ -
