I still think we need a more caring society. And if people are given a chance in life, an opportunity to meet their potential, you might be surprised to find out what they can do.

The ‘caring society’ idea does not blend well with the ‘take and exploit’ mentality we seem to see these days. The welfare state in theory is the caring society, has it worked? Or do people exploit it?
Anyway, life itself is very much a gift. It is not so much ‘what we make it’, it’s more a case of making the best hand out of the cards that we are dealt. And some people are dealt a truly **** hand!everybody believes in the caring society..that we should all care for each other
or if they don;t, they won’t say so openly.
As Desmondy points out, the devil is in the detail.
In terms of personally caring, that is hard enough just in itself, and very limited to the number of people we meet.
