i know a lot of us have kids in here
so my question of the day have any of your kids complained about the names you chose for them as theyve got older?
i mean its not like they get a say in it,when there a few days old is it?
when my kids were born,me and the then missus decided if it was a boy i would pick the name, and if it was a girl she would pick it,as it turned out we had 3 boys,so it was down to me, i like to think i was fairly sensible in picking their names
    nothing to outlandish.
and the missus seemed happy enough
so all in all its not turned out to bad, altho my youngest son, sometimes moans about his middle name,he reckons its a bit girly lol

which brings me to another point
why dont some parents consider picking names more carefully instead of just jumping in,weve all heard yhe a syories like the boy with the surname sole, and his parents called him robert, work it out,oh theres loads of them
also i have a surname which i wont say,but its a surname you would have to be very careful with picking first names esp boys
ah well thats it for now
heres hoping your kids are happy with their names.

What about the two kids I went to school with – Jon and William Dickie – I kid you not.

We were waiting for Ricky Dickie to come along but he never did.

Not quite so cruel is the number of people in Wales called things like Evan Evans, William Williams, Rhys Rees and of course, my favourite, John John.

his middle name is jordan.. he only thinks its girly cos of that katie price, but i explained to him she wasnt around when he was born

there is also a horse trainer called richard head

being called dik s a bit unfortunate lol

but times and slang words evolve over the years
if you know what i mean?
like 50 years ago dik was a decent reasonable name
    until it go corrupted
anyway im off out to do my weekly shop

There is so much in a name cosy…without seeing the person we all have a mental picture of people based on their name… both here and in the real world.

I think I have told the story of FemmeNikita here before an extremely popular woman in the backgammon site I used to play at… she scared me to death as she wielded such power over the guys at the site and she slapped you down if you didn’t agree with her.I was scared to disagree as her cronies backed her up if you did.

Anyway when there was a live tournament and I met her…. she was so different to my mental picture.. made me laugh at myself really but the Internet is so powerful and people can be whatever they want to be based on a name.

Im into names right now as my daughters baby is due soon…..we don’t know if its a boy or girl… some names are favourite but its a secret :D
