Just watched Police Camera Action on ITV4 where the last bit was about four youngsters who drove way too fast and were confronted by two people – the father who’s son drove too quickly causing an accident that killed his son and the mother who’s two daughters were killed in the same accident.
So what advert followed immediately after the program – the plusnet advert on a race track promising speeds up to eight times faster – great timing

But I do know, because a friend works selling advertising slots inbetween programs that these slots are bought months and sometimes a year in advance..especially slots inbetween Coronation Street, Emmerdale and the big Talent Shows….but regarding the example you mentioned..the advertiser would probably only know the name of the TV Program it was placed with and not the contents of it

Not sure if it happens now or not Mrs T…but at the end of a news broadcast there always used to be a light hearted story to finish off the program….remember reading years ago it was somthing to do with leaving viewers with something to smile about after serious news pieces

It was usually preceded by a smiley “And finally..”Irish news here still has it on a regular basis, but I guess in this age of around the clock stations etc where news crews turn up en masse at the drop of a hat or the opening of an envelope, it’s not as regular as such.. More thrown in to alleviate or soften the persistent and/or repetitious bombardment of the modern news channel.
