So it should be brushed under the carpet like it was throughout his life?

It wasn’t just teenage girls, he liked the young nurses too (allegedly) and several of the nurses at Stoke Mandeville dreaded his visits to the hospital.

And you’re happy to believe all this even though he was never charged let alone convicted of any sex crime?

And it’s ok by you that the accused is dead and cannot defend himself?

I hope you never get to do jury service.

    I’ve done jury service twice.

    I agree with Jen.

There is already a stack of evidence against him and even he couldn’t have fixed this one.

Maybe I’m happy to believe it because of the stories I heard about him while he was still alive and how those people didn’t say anything because they didn’t think anyone would believe them. They dreaded the abuse they’d get for accusing “Saint Jimmy” and thought they’d be persecuted by the media.

It’s not uncommon for stories of sex abuse only to come to light after the perpetrator dies as it’s often the first time that the victims have felt safe and able to talk about it.

I’ve been told he’s already talked about it in his autobiography. Which would mean no defence thought necessary. I haven’t read it but a sense of untouchability is common amongst celebrities.

OK… when Jimmy died I just said RIP here but actually in real life I knew Jimmy quite well, when I was a child we lived in the same area… he was much older than me but later after I was married our paths crossed again. For much of his life Jimmy lived in a flat overlooking Roundhay Park in Leeds. I used to have coffee with friends in the cafe over looking the lake, Jimmy would see me arrive and always came to chat and have coffee. I got to know him reasonably well as did my kids when they were on school hols he would make them laugh and tell them stories.

Yes he was a flirt and given the slightest encouragement he could be over enthusiastic…. but in Jimmies book no was no. He was a lovable rogue in some ways but never a bully and definitely would not force himself on people although he was appreciative of a pretty face and would make it known he was available.

He was a complicated character proud of his roots and his achievements especially his charitable work. I don’t think anyone truly knew Jimmy…. he was a lonely soul, he craved affection and shunned commitment… I can only tell you about the man i knew, but I knew him over many years, I don’t think he was perfect in fact for sure he wasn’t… but a bad person? No I don’t think so.

I don’t believe half the stuff you read in papers and people jumping on some band wagon, and exaggerating stuff as most of you probably know, but in all seriousness, i agree with panda, i know i know  but i do, what exactly is there to be gained from trying to damage him now the guy is dead fgs and as mrs tea has said he maybe a rogue love the ladies and been in situations like many a young man but to do this to a dead man and his name stinks.
