2012 is quite the year for anniversaries.
It’s been a hundred years since the sinking of The Titanic, and 50 years since The Beatles began their recording career in earnest. The Rolling Stones also celebrated their 50th anniversary recently.
And least, but not last, this Sunday marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Marilyn Monroe.
50 years of Jamaican h’independence.

59 years since I was walked to the hospital by my dad to visit my new-born bro. Was really missing me mam, and really pleased to see her again. Also was fascinated by all the wires sticking out of her ears, especially when she put them in mine for a minute and music came out of them.
She looked at me and said, “sceppy, this technology is nothing compared with the hi-tech you’ll be using in 60 years time to waste your stupid little life”. “Wow, mam,” replied little I with a sudden vision of the JC boards, “a brave new world ahead, and such strange creatures in’t”
