I cant believe there is a sport called stacking….putting cups on one another in a certain order in the fastest time.Apparently the world record is 5.63 for one discipline. There is a world championships and no doubt it will enter the olympics along with other pointless pursuits. How can you class rhythmic gymnastics as a sport, its just a show like synchronised swimming.
Im sure we are all looking forward to the mens 25m rapid fire pistol finals in a few weeks time.
Anyway im away for a few days collecting Leyland Titan bus numbers in the Hull region.
13 July, 2012 at 2:04 pm #502225I wonder if they are going to have that marathon dominoes stacking and falling …a pointless pursuit but all that time taken to position the dominoes into intricate patterns and it’s all over in seconds !

It’s called speed stacks………….very big in th USA and becoming very popular over her in schools……..it’s great for hand/motor skills …….. in my year group we had a ‘speed stack’ competition……the kids really loved it……all done against the timer …….even us clumsy adults had a go.
13 July, 2012 at 4:50 pm #502227when I was in junior school, I was intrigued by the claim that there is no highest number.
I was wrongly told that there is a highest number called infinity.
I had great suspicion of this number infinity, with its squiggly symbol, looking like a drunken 8, and my suspicon was later borne out by the discovery that some obsessive called Cantor had discovered a higher number.
So at my class in junior school I started counting, and have been counting ever since..
1…2…3…4…5…6…7..8……
13 July, 2012 at 10:05 pm #502228well I did not win the Super Lotto which was for 13 million euros as it is played on Friday the 13th nor did I win the Euromillions of 75 million euros. C’est la vie but there is tomorrow and Tuesday to wait for now or is that a pointless (or euroless) pursuit?
