I got an e mail last week from a Nigerian company saying id won £3 million pounds by winning the rugby world cup draw :?
Apparently all i have to do is pay them to have the money released.
So its goodbye work and jc and hello pink champagne and Monte carlo.
Anyone fallen for any good scams?

A friend had his email hacked and a message sent to the friends in his contact list saying that he had been mugged whilst in Barcelona and needed money quickly to get home and settle his hotel account……Of course people quickly realised it was a scam…. but even so my friend was a bit upset no-one sent money for his rescue :D

I dont know what kind of a scam it was but , last night, i went on line on my lappy so as to be able to log into m s n. I had a contact available called “Jenny Meyer”. As i had no idea who it was i sent a message asking who it was. I got a message back asking me when was the last time i had sex! i realised that it could not be anyone that i actually knew and looked to see what the m s n addy was. I was horrified to see that it was Sols m s n addy. I still have it in my contacts for the same reason that i still have his number on my phone. I simpy dont want to delete it.
I dont know how someone used his addy but they are sick and i truly was horrified!

Oh eve how nasty some people are….I know what you mean about deleting loved ones who have passed their details…very difficult

Istill refuse to delete it Kenty, but it really did upset me.
Hmmmm – I have several emails from members of jc of which I don’t e-mail, just natta to in the lobby – not even in pm, cos that is generally blocked cos of the pervs! I just don’t open them.
As for sending money and you get a zillion pounds or a tv etc etc – I have had those, and binned them, however I watch Watchdog, and they did warn people about this kind of thing and it seems quite a few people actually fall for it! :(

eve im sure that must have been quite upsetting……….a truely dispicable thing for someone to do x
I remember reading about a scam years ago.A chap posted an advert in the paper saying that if you sent him 10 quid he could tell you a way in which you would never need to cut your lawn again.When he recieved the money he sent a note back saying just dont cut it.He hadnt committed a crime and people were too embarrassed to admit theyd been had so he got away with it.
