Should women take their husbands surname once married?
Some people use double barrel names whilst others keep their maiden name.
Did you change yours?
There would be an outcry if men had to change, maybe we should.

Personally it does not really make any difference either way as to me the married part is the thing as opposed to the surname
I have found it amusing seeing some of the double barrelled names sounding more like villages than anything else – i.e. those that include surnames like north or west etc
Here in France most forms ask for the ladies maiden name and most mail is then directed to that surname – so changing surnames means naff all lol

I’ve been married twice and both times took my husband’s name. And both times, as soon as I was divorced I reverted back to my maiden name…reclaiming myself maybe? I don’t intend to marry again (but then again I said that after the first one!) but if I did I would keep my maiden name. It may be just a name but it’s who I am.

Mr Jen has a foreign name and has always said that if we got married he’d take on my name as it’s easier to pronounce and spell! He already uses my name when we order takeaways or book tables in restaurants!
