they came with a marriage certificate and a death certificate of people who had lived here before

24 October, 2005 at 2:18 pm #157687The house we’re in now we had built, but the house I lived in before was a hundred years old and we found out all kind of stuff about all the people who had lived there before. It was really neat. One of the children, a girl had hid her journal under the floor boards (we found re-doing the floors)It was dated 1919.

24 October, 2005 at 2:35 pm #157689My flat in Edinburgh was once part of a hall owned by the Church of the Latter Day Saints (mormons)
When I sanded down the toilet door I found the word “gents” on it

when i moved to previous 2 addy’s ago… in the cupboard they had left an ole horseshoe and a box of their personal letters they each wrote while courtin thru the war…. i eventually tracted down a relly of them and passed them over… but did say i read a few… it was like readin a book… honestly made me weep, as this young lass described life where she was to keep her mans spirits up while in the war….
it turned out both had since died… and they were left by acciendent.. so atleast their memories saved…

I haven’t, no.
My house was only built in the 60’s though – so not much history to it anyway
24 October, 2005 at 5:30 pm #157694I had a friend who moved into a house and found in the loft a stack of porno videos, and photos of what were the previous owners in er, interesting attire.
