As our thoughts turn to christmas and the new year i always tend to reflect on the past year and how i could of made things better.Maybe we are expecting too much from life, the perfect body, healthy lifestyle, great job, lots of money and wonderful friends and family.

New year resolutions seem to fail for most people as generally they are last minute thoughts and unrealistic goals.I think the secret is to break them down and focus on a few things which are important to yourself.

I smoke yes, too much yes, but how much do i want to stop? i must confess that at the moment i have to much stress and worry to give up, and i enjoy the damn things. So i would be unrealistic in thinking i could give up, besides if i tried and failed it would put me off trying again.

If your planning on dieting set realistic goals of a couple of pounds a month, and tell all your family and close friends as you will be more determined to achieve your goals if others are supporting you.

I have three personal goals i wish to achieve next year and i believe they are all achievable.

I wish you all good luck with yours.

Ok…. its funny I know I had New Years resolutions last year…. but try as I might I cannot remember what they were? One may have been to keep in better touch with old friends… which I have failed miserably at so I will try harder next year.

I know what you mean about realistic goals.. Im very good at setting myself up to fail :?

I never make New Year resolutions…I make resolutions at various times of the year though.

I agree though, make them attainable, break them down into bite size chunks, and remember that just because you fall of your bandwagon one day, there’s no reason why you can’t get back on. “You’re only a failure when you stop trying”.

Good luck to those that do make New year resolutions!
