The other day I watched the Matt Damon film The Hereafter, basically its about near death experiences and life after death.
Anyway the story intrigued me so I read up a bit on near death experiences, its amazing that there seems to be a common theme, people tend to experience a tunnel with a bright light at the end which they are drawn towards, they see people who have died and have a strong feeling of peace as they walk towards the light, some have out of body experiences too before they are jolted back into this world as they put it.
There are many theories why this happens but for me none seem to run true…
OK so my question to you all is have you experienced something that would make you think there may be a hereafter? or do you have beliefs that there is one.. alternatively you may feel its all rubbish… will be interesting to see comments on this one. :?

There are far too many experiences that I have had personally and that customers have shared with me to detail here, very profound, very deep and very moving, and some of them are so personal that I wouldn’t put them here anyway.
Nuff said
P.S. was the film any good?

and you soon start to rot away :P11 July, 2011 at 4:11 pm #473237Here’s one story I will share.
A few years ago a friend was driving a minibus with a large number of passengers – I think he said there were 16 people altogether – when they were involved in a horrific multi-car pile-up. Everything seemed to slow down, as it often appears to when you have an accident, and he braced himself for the crash. The next thing he knew he was sitting on the grass bank on the side of the road looking down at the crash. The minibus was surrounded on all sides by vehicles and was the most badly damaged vehicle and he watched as the emergency services arrived and started freeing people trapped in their cars. When they got to the minibus they could see he was very badly hurt (the physical body that is); they weren’t even sure if he was alive but until the vehicle recovery people arrived to clear the scene they could only get into the minibus from the back and all the other passengers had to be cut free first. He stood there watching them cut his passengers out, heard what was being said, accompanied each of his passengers to the ambulance before returning to watch the next one being cut out. It took them 5 hours in total to reach him, by which time he was pronounced dead. He said he stood next to a paramedic saying to him “but I’m not dead, I’m still here” over and over and watched as the paramedic looked confused then asked his superior if he minded him taking another look. This paramedic found a very very faint pulse and so they started work on him.
He told people afterwards about what he observed, what he heard, and they were all dumbfounded as, even if he had been conscious, there is no way he could have physically seen the rescue operation in as much detail as he did.
He said “I know people say things like make your way to the light, but I didn’t feel like that was for me, I felt I had to stay with my passengers and my body and everything would be ok.”
It took 2 years of major operations and therapy for him to recover, he is a logical, rational man with an engineering background and not given to flights of fancy, but he accepts what happened and that he will never be able to explain it.
11 July, 2011 at 5:22 pm #473238In my mind there is no shadow of a doubt. I have had enough conclusive evidence offered to me by those who have passed over.
The thing that separates life from death is only a one-way mirror.

11 July, 2011 at 5:36 pm #473240I believe, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that there is a hereafter.

It’s what some might call a new age gift shop Mrs T, I sell crystals, incense, fairies and dragons and buddhas alongside lovely scented candles, beautiful jewellery and my own natural and organic skincare range – I say my own, I don’t make it myself, it’s made for me by an aromatherapist and has my own label on it. I have a therapy area within the shop too.
