Fact or Fiction ? The beauty of Urban myths is that while they
stretch belief , they dont burst the bubble .Few ships spawn greater mixture of true stories or Urban myths than the Titanic.
for example did the band really play as she sank ? YESSurviors say they played ragtime and waltzes as the stern began to lift out
of the water as the bow sank .8 June, 2011 at 9:21 am #470297April fools day Hoax
Burger King once published a full page

a new item to their menu a” left handed whopper ”
Specially designed for the 33 million left handed americans
According to the text, the new burger had the same ingredients
as the original ” whopper ” ( lettuce,tomatoe,hambuger patty, etc )
But all the condiments were rotated through 180 degrees for the benifit
of their left handed customers .The next day Burger King followed up with an advert saying
that although the left handed burger was a Hoax , thousands
of customers had gone into restaurants to request the new sandwich
in addition , according to Burger King other customers requested their

8 June, 2011 at 9:50 am #470299ALTOIDS MINTS AND ORAL SEX . An urban legend ?
Had the most interesting conversation with the top sales weasel at our company today. She came into my office and noticed I had a box of Altoids on my desk.
(Have you had them? They are these obnoxiously strong peppermints made in England.) As soon as she saw them, she burst into laughter. Turns out she had recently had an affair with a guy who called her and left her an incredibly steamy voice mail message after an encounter. He went on and on about what a blow job goddess she was, how amazing she was, how he’d never be the same, etc. She was kind of puzzled, thinking: what did I do to this guy that was so different from my regular technique
She finally figured it out: she’s a smoker, and before getting intimate with him, she had gone to the bathroom to “freshen up.” Not having a toothbrush, she crunched on about four Altoids and then got busy. Apparently things went amazingly. So she passed this little tidbit on to another female sales weasel, who immediately tried it out on *her* fiance. Apparently this guy has never, ever been into oral sex, but liked the mint sensation so much that he asked her to stop and chew another Altoid mid-blow job. He is now a fellatio gourmand
This news has been going around our office. Having a box of Altoids on your desk is now like being part of the Secret Blowjob Goddess Society. It’s the equivalent of having the hottest car or coolest computer. News spread like crazy among the females, who all went out at lunch to Walgreens to buy a box of Altoids (about $2 for 100 or so), and their partners across the city tonight are getting one hell of a corporate blow job. As far as company-wide morale boosting events, it doesn’t get much better.
Some of the men found out, too — they went out after work to buy them for their wives. They strategized on how to get their wives to eat them.
8 June, 2011 at 10:04 am #470300HOAX CALLS .
Hoax callers in South Wales cost the local economy almost £400,000 a year, as well as putting people’s lives in danger.
A staggering 929 hoax calls were made to South Wales Fire and Rescue Service from 1st April 2007 to 31st March 2008, each costing around £650 to attend.
Malicious callers are not only an enormous drain on resources but their thoughtless behaviour endangers the lives and safety of the public.
8 June, 2011 at 10:12 am #470301The Necrophiliac,s gift …. i think an Urban legend
A woman (a friend of a friend, of course) met a man while out on the town one night. One thing led to another, as they say, and she ended up having sex with him. Later, the woman fell ill. She went to the doctor, who examined her and announced that she was “infected with corpse-worms” (maggots). A subsequent investigation revealed that the stranger she had slept with was a pathologist in a local hospital. He had fornicated with a decomposing corpse earlier that same day.
How romantic ….

8 June, 2011 at 10:23 am #470303Urban legend ?
There’s a bridge called “Covert’s Crossing” or “Covert’s Bridge” up in New Castle. A young couple had gotten married on Halloween. Around midnight, they were riding in a horse drawn carriage across the bridge at the same time a car was. The bridge was only one lane, so by the time they saw each other it was too late. Story has it that they crashed and the hubcap of the car flew off, decapitating the bride. The police never found her head or the body of the groom. Its been said that if you sit on the bridge on Halloween night around midnight, you can see the headless bride standing on some rocks in the river. However they don’t know if she is looking for her head or her lost love.
8 June, 2011 at 10:26 am #470304Urban legend ?
There was a couple in Scotland who had just moved into an old castle. It wasn’t long before they decided to empty out the wine cellar. They found a large barrel of brandy. They tried moving it and even got a few friends to help, but they couldn’t budge it. In the end, they decided to have a housewarming party and give glasses of brandy out to empty the barrel and make it easier to move. A few days after the party, they went into the cellar and tried to move the barrel again. It still wouldn’t move. The husband got his saw in order to cut it into smaller pieces and they cut off the top of the barrel. Inside was a dead body and they had drank the brandy that had preserved it.
8 June, 2011 at 10:47 am #470305Weird Hoax ….
Birth or Not
The Premise: A couple claims to be allowing the internet to vote on whether or not they’ll have an abortion. This has been getting a lot of attention on blogs over the past few days, and by now it’s been definitively proven to be a hoax. Kevin Hoffman points out what I think is the most telling piece of evidence. The couple registered the domain name birthornot.com over two months before the baby was supposedly conceived. Also, the man behind the site has been identified as Pete Arnold, who is apparently a well-known right-wing troll.
So, in other words, this is just another cynical shock-style hoax designed to be offensive.
