I was in chat the other day just being nosey anyway people were talking about the boards and saying why dont the people who post there just come and say it here instead? another comment was what rubbish they were.
Have to say though it made me wonder why do we post in here? having thought it through for me the reasons are listed below
I dont have the time or inclination to sit for ages in a chat room
I find it tedious watching all the hello’s goodbyes, welcome backs which accounts for at least 70% of the text
I object to strangers asking me, ASL and other personal questions
I prefer not to watch all the rants
I dislike the fact that there is no registration so you never know who is who and people can clone
I find 90% of the chat irrelevant to me.I know people will say well there are arguments on the boards too, difference is I can choose not to read them, I can select what I want to respond to and I can post a comment then return hours later to see any responses.
So what are your reasons for being here?
One last point which made me laugh, a person said to me in chat.. that Mrs Teapot talks rubbish you know… her Cream Tea thread was all lies! (check the date)…. :roll: :roll: :roll:

i like the boards
cus what you put stays there and is lasting proof of what you actually said :wink:I like the boards because we don’t have to be there at the same time to communicate.

I like both, for different reasons. The main one, I suppose, is that unless you are registered you can’t leave a message on a thread – so if I don’t go into chat, I will miss some of the peeps who aren’t.
I like having a chat after work as it helps me to unwind as the working day can get a bit stressy. Plus certain chatters like to use this time of the day…………….and I like posting on the boards aswell……..sometimes the threads are very funny………there are some posters that have a wicked sense of humour.

I used to be a total F2 chat junkie… and then one day I just thought.. ya know what am done!
I occasionally pop in if I am proper bored or I see a name in there I want to chat to in particular.. otherwise I just stick to the boards (when I can be bothered) but lately I have gotten rather addicted to the Quiz and I enjoy the banter that goes on within that selection of people… all good natured and nice..
