We have all on occasions moaned about the UK and dreamed of emigrating, but if the opportunity arose would you? which country would you emigrate to and why?
Last year I was in Canada and I fell in love with Vancouver, I think if I were younger and the kids were little I would have considered moving there, too late now but who knows in another life……….

Id miss Scotland as i love her, though in saying that I would buy a farmhouse in East Mallorca if i came into money. and choose when i stayed there. Love the Quality of light on that Island, and i would not feel too far from Home.

I know what you mean Ruby, that’s why I said I would have possibly when the kids were younger, those were the days when I could tell them what to do….. now they tell me!

26 January, 2011 at 10:46 pm #460342Tried the immigration thing. Had it all, sun, sea, and sand.
Unfortunately, my income got swallowed up in medical insurance, high electric bills for air con, expensive food and transport costs.
The grass is not always greener.

but love to come home tooToo right Thin. This is the best country in the world to live in. For every factor that makes us complain there is another that’s worth staying for whether pragmatic or romantic. I’ve seen a lot of people leave and return after a few weeks or leave and then commute for health or educational reasons.
27 January, 2011 at 9:13 am #460347I would never leave Ireland. Other countries have their allure for hols and such but to sit up at dawn and watch the sun over my mountains is something i could never leave.
