Sky Sports football pundit Andy Gray has been sacked after making sexist comments with a male colleague which were inadvertently broadcast for all to hear. I know sexism is unacceptable, but have to admit I heard the comments and I was not in the least bit offended. Is it possible there are areas that are all male and should be accepted as such and also areas that are all female?
Today I watched Loose Women on TV, from start to finish it discussed the differences between men and women with a bias towards females (as it should  ), I laughed at the women making fun of men all with good humour…. will this soon be banned I wonder? are the Loose Women being sexist when they talk about men in this way…. hmmm food for thought.

sky football will be poorer for not having andy gray
and im sure it has the reverse affect on women when this sort of knee jerk action is taken
the comments gray made would have faded away
but now this woman will have this cloud over her head for ever25 January, 2011 at 11:15 pm #460256I watched a report on it today and they tried to put it on a par with when Ron Atkinson was sacked for being racist when he was overheard referring to black people as niggers. How any right minded person can even start to class these two situations as similar is beyond me.
I get a feeling that Sky have for some reason wanted rid of Andy Gray and this was the perfect oppurtunity.

Now us woman can hopefully have eye candy Jamie Redknapp to look at full time. :P
Sexism is on par with racism so like Atkinson, Gray deserved to get disciplined.
But Gray got the sack for his revolting comment he made to the woman about tucking his microphone in in his trousers. If that hadn’t come to light, then he would probably have kept his job. Any bloke in any office would probably get the push for that.
As for Sian Massey – why would there be a cloud hanging over her head – what has she done wrong???

I didnt say sexism wasnt on a par with racism but as with most things i think theres different degrees of each and i think what Ron Atkinson said was far worse than what Andy Gray said.

nothing at all but she will be known for all the wrong reasons and not because she may or maybe not be good at her job
in fact sky tv not andy gray have probably ended her career
how will she cope with thousands of football fans ranting at her for getting andy gray the sack not that she did but thats how she will be seen27 January, 2011 at 12:05 am #460261nothing at all but she will be known for all the wrong reasons and not because she may or maybe not be good at her job

You are assuming that football in general is behind Andy Gray – I don’t think they are. Read Dalglish’s comments on the matter:

And these:

Gray is an outdated dinosaur. Sport is suppposed to break down ALL barriers.
And it’s Gray’s and Key’s career that has ended – all Sian Massey has done is to prove she can do her job very well.
