Why can’t horse riders clean up after their horses? Dog owners have to by law but it seems horse owners are exempt or can’t be bothered.

Driving down country lanes is hazardous when there is slippery horse poo there.

Roads in villages are covered in the stuff.

And now even town centres as the mounted police don’t clear up after Dobbin.

A farmer in Wiltshire got fined for leaving mud on the road from his tractor which caused the death of a young driver.

People get fined for dropping litter.

No one can stop an animal from defecating where it wants to but I clean up after my dog so why can’t horse riders? It’s a series hazard.

Round here Panda you have to clear up horse poo, imagine the size of the horsey bag  and not everyone is doing it either.
Don’t horses poo while trotting too? I don’t presume the rider will stop the trot reverse and pick up the poo either

Dunno, doesn’t seem practical for the rider, even though the problems you outlined are more important.

Sorry but this typo made me laugh…how many episodes and have I missed the pilot?

I can’t for the life of me remember where I saw it, but somewhere in the world they strap a kind of poop-bucket to the hind quarters of the horse to catch it. Obviously the horse would need to be trained to be comfortable wearing one but it has to be better than carrying a horse-sized pooper scooper and collecting bag!

    LOL

My mate skidded twice on a country road and left marks – not once but twice.

It’s all the oats the horses eat – no fatalities at the mo but there could be a wanna be cereal killer loose. :P

Indeed, these horses have the trots in more ways than one. :D

They should be made to pick it up though or face a £1000 fine like us dog owners. Or avoid riding in public places. After all, there is no real need for horses to be walked along the road. Thought they had paddocks and fields for horses.

Can’t understand the problem horse poo is a very organic product, scoop it up and bung it on your roses. :)
