How can this stupid woman be even driving on our roads if she doesn’t understand or speak english!! I’m not altogether surprised though that there are chinese groups who have reacted angrily, they must love things like this, must sit at times excitedly waiting for someone to say something they can react to   I wonder how they would have reacted had that stupid cow injured someone while ramming her husbands car across the pavement and into a wall, I expect then she would have used her inability to understand english as an excuse, and no doubt the chinese group would have done likewise

Whilst I agree with the judge that learning English would make her life easier if she’s going to live in this country, I’d also say that the fact that she can’t speak English has no bearing on the incident. It was a domestic dispute and she was getting back at her husband, she’d probably have done the same even if she could speak English.

I’ve driven in France: I don’t speak French. I’ve driven in Spain: I don’t speak Spanish. Countless of us do it when we go on our holidays abroad.

yes but she lives here….and the judge did say that he shouldn’t probably say it but he did…and I think in all cases where sentencing and fines are given the jugde always summarises at the end…I could be wrong…maybe it was advice for the fact an interpreter was needed…maybe it caused a delay in moving the vehicles etc…tieing up police time waiting to be able to read her her rights…dunno do we

You may well have driven in France and in Spain, iv’e driven in Spain and in Malta, iv’e mostly found road signs to be pretty self explanatory anyway. I don’t think though, that iv’e ever deliberatly rammed someone elses car, and lets not forget, it was across a pavement, ramming her husbands car into a wall, makes you question whether someone obviously so volatile should be driving in the first place!!

The question of her not being able to speak english is a whole other matter really, I think a lot of them, not only chinese but many other nationalities use that one far too often to try to get away with things, oh I dont understand, I no speak english!!

Some communities like the chinese and bangladeshi people do not integrate, and do not want to integrate and learn english, quite frankly they don’t often need to because they will only shop and socialise within their own groups. When the new theory test came out for driving I was under the impression if you don’t or can’t read and write english you basically cannot pass your test. Seems not the case…I was watching a program some weeks back now called Muslim Driving School, set up norf somewhere and they had there tests on the computers in their own language….now whilst they still have to learn and get the answers right…is it a good thing?…I know from speaking Punjabi…some things directly translated using the same words do not actually mean the same….if you get what I mean….I really do think everyone should learn to speak English and be made to have at least basic English. To be honest it’s amazing some of these groups who come over here and are able to claim benefits etc without even working ever, I’m surprised the government doesn’t lay on private tuition in their own homes because they don’t want to go to a learning place  …maybe thats the next thing we will hear of…I do hope any future Prime Ministers arn’t reading my drivvle.

This is what I was responding to.

Not being able to speak English does not make her stupid. Yes, her life would be easier living in England if she learned to speak English, but I doubt that learning to speak English would make her less volatile towards her husband or stop her from ramming his car.

As for should she be driving, well once her ban is over she’ll have to sit an extended driving test before she can drive again.

Should someone so volatile be allowed to drive? Well I wonder that every time I see yet another road rage incident, some people should be arrested for being in possession of a dangerous weapon when they’re driving.

    Excellent point! I may have to duck here but I agree, isn’t it amazing how many know how to claim on the benefits system but can’t speak or understand even basic english language!

By the way, I totally agree jen jen on the road rage issue. I was coming back from the shops on Saturday, I was on my scooter (the mobility sort) crossing just a small road, a young woman in a rather large 4 x 4 came haring round from the main road into the side road which I was in the middle of, I stopped out of shock, one of those moments when your not quite sure what to do. The volley of abuse I got from the said young woman was unreal!! lol. So it springs to mind once again! how inconsiderate of me to be in her way!!! She clearly wasnt having a very good day, I asked, quite angrily, did she kiss her mother with that mouth, this seemed to inflame her all the more lol

Ah Cas …. you’ve sampled the gentle sport of inflaming Chavs with a few well chosen words. Such fun eh?

It’s even more fun to inflame them when they have their mobile phone affixed permanently to their ear – particularly when they are driving!!!
