Well the thread on “Poems are rubbish” got me thinking about art in all its forms and I wondered…what pictures do you have in your home? And why?

    Here are two of mine:

    Janet Treby – Innocence

I have three of Janet Treby’s work, this was my first and hangs over my fireplace. It always surprises people when they first visit my home – even more so when I was still living alone! People don’t seem to expect a straight woman to have a nude female on her wall!

I used to see it in a gallery I passed every day on my way into work. The simplicity of the work, the capturing the flow of the female form, and the serenity called out to me. I always used to put a part of my annual bonus aside to buy something for myself that I would not normally buy – a true bonus. When I got my annual bonus that year I already knew what I was going to buy!

And in complete contrast, in my bedroom I have:

Beryl Cook – Nude on a Leapordskin

Given to me by a dear friend who is no longer with us, it always makes me smile and reminds me to not take myself or life too seriously

I have a few originals on my walls, but they’re so expensive, I don’t have many but I’d love to build up a portfolio of them! Being an anatomist I have ‘Proportions of Man’ in my loo!

I have an actual shipment label for the an Apollo lunar module framed and on my music room wall of which I’m very proud.

I have some cartoons by leonardo da vinci and michelangelo of the pieta….. they are quite big and in my hallway. I have a photograph entitled “man in a gas factory in athens” which is a black and white photo of a man in a shower which is phwoarrrrrr and i have a Thomas Leung and a Peter Kitchell, both limited edition posters which are modern art and wave like.

I love surrealist realism in contemporary art, and have been looking for a poster of a painting entitled “monk on a swing” for ages now as I really want a copy of it.

Ha! easily the funniest thing I’ve seen all day.

Apart from the telly, my front room walls are solely adorned by Pollocks.
