Last week was crap!

The title says it all really.

A good friend who had thought she’d won her fight with breast cancer had gone on to developed another form of cancer caused by the very treatment that saved her first time around. After a year of operation after operation, a wound that won’t heal and keeps getting infected, spending more time in hospital than she’s spent at home, she’s been told there is no more that they can do for her. It’s just a year since we lost another friend to secondary cancer after breast cancer, so it’s a bit raw.

A friend’s daughter was in a car accident. Her 18 year old boyfriend, who was driving, was killed. Sarah, who is 17, is critical, in a coma, broken spine, broken legs, broken arms, broken pelvis, fractured skull…so young, so tragic. Friends are rallying around, sharing taxi duties, childcare, and so on but it’s a waiting game right now so any positive thoughts for Sarah and her family would be very much appreciated.

A friend who is a victim of domestic abuse ended up in hospital, seriously injured. Her husband finally went too far, and at last the police are taking it seriously. This weekend she was discharged and we moved her into a refuge…it’s a bit grim but at least he won’t find her there. With support from friends she will come out of this a stronger person, but right now she’s finding it hard to see that.

And then I came into the chatroom for an escape, made one flip comment and suddenly I’m Ms Nasty Woman.

So, if I behaved out of character, if I upset anyone, whatever, I apologise…but I’m back, and I have developed an attitude, and you can take me or leave me as I am. And if you don’t like me, iggy me, but please don’t have a dig at me however subtle cos I ain’t holding back any more.
