How many more innocent children and babies have to die, before these useless incompetent social workers, get off of their backsides and DO something? Are they blind as well as stupid? What this poor baby went through doesn,t bear thinking about. They should sack bloody social workers. Time after time we hear the same old rubbish. “lessons will be learnt” or, “enquires will be made”. Fat lot of good that is after the poor child has died isn,t it? :evil: :evil: :evil:

Yes, this is an awful case – but it is isolated (something the Daily Mail often forgets to mention in their stories), and thankfully rare. I think it is unfair to label all social workers as ‘stupid’ and ‘useless’ – they undertake a very difficult job, and will slip up from time to time.
The vast majority do a fantastic job with minimal resources and support, and deserve our thanks and appreciation. We would certainly be worse off without them.
Yes I also listened to the reports today including some in depth interviews with the legal and medical people involved…. including the Judge that compiled the report into the Victoria Climbie killing that occurred only a few streets away from this poor child.
It appears that the child’s mother is at the heart of all this. Apparently she lied persistently to everybody about what was going on in the household, to the extent that a Police spokesman said that they had no idea that she had a ”partner” living with her. She covered up everything and constantly offered a variety of stories to explain how her child kept having bruises etc all over it.
It was also said that parents involved in persistent and continuous abuse are extremely clever at concocting lies and suchlike to disguise their crimes.
It was only when her child had been killed (i.e. murdered) by her lover(s) that she finally confessed to the catalogue of abuse to which it had been subjected. She had been visited over 100 times in the previous 3 months alone by doctors, nurses, social workers etc etc and it seems that none of them were aware of the true situation inside her house and which she expertly covered up with lie after lie.
50 injuries and people thought hmmmm could be telling the truth ? What are these people, thick ? 100 visits in 3 month and everyone accepted her story ? It’s beyond belief, this is a childs life f*ck treading lightly cause it’s too f*cking late once the child has died.
I know Pete, i was as shocked as clearly you are. The problem seems to be that the so-called experts took the mother’s word for things without digging any deeper – God knows why.
All this rubbish about “lessons can and will be learnt” seems pretty pointless when they clearly AREN’T being learnt and an innocent child is dead in consequence.
How many more innocent babies and children will die before the social services, doctors, health visitors et al, will learn their f*cking lessons and pull their f*cking fingers out and stop this senseless violence on innocent babies? WHEN?

Im shocked with the English system..this would never happen in Canada…social services are to child abusers like flys are to sh it.
When a child is murdered here its because someone has either kidnapped the child…or did it within a few days span…if there are reports of child abuse workers are on the door step of said abusers immediately…and so they should be.
Working in the child care field we have an obligation to report any signs of abuse on a child, then its looked into right away…I have never in my life heard of such a story, a child being taken to the docs 100 times in 3 months, thats just wrong.
I think that the social workers and other professionals are as much to blame as the killers…they are just as much an accomplice…they may not have known exactly what was going on…but they knew something was, its not rocket science.
Crimes in England seem to be much less punishable by law then in Canada…do the crime here you do the time.

Seems like everyone is to blame apart from the government.
Its the government that has under funded Social Services for years.
Its the government in the case of Victoria Climbie that let a illigal drug selling imigrant stay in the country unchecked to murder his child.
Its the government who has given everyone rights apart from the innocent and hard working.
Its the government that would prefer to employ people based on colour and religon and not whos best for the job.
But as usual thousands will be spent on an enquiry, lessons will be learned just like after the Victoria Climbie c0ck up and as usual nothing will change.
