A thread for the legendary Sir / Lady Elton John.. and his wonderful lyricist Bernie Taupin.
First up , a personal fave of mine (one I rather enjoy singing 8-[ ).. Reg’s first solo UK number one hit.
Really like this one. It’s a human sign
When things go wrong
When the scent of her lingers
And temptation’s strongInto the boundary
Of each married man
Sweet deceit comes calling
And negativity landsCold cold heart
Hard done by you
Some things look better baby
Just passing throughAnd it’s no sacrifice
Just a simple word
It’s two hearts living
In two separate worlds
But it’s no sacrifice
No sacrifice
It’s no sacrifice at allMutual misunderstanding
After the fact
Sensitivity builds a prison
In the final actWe lose direction
No stone unturned
No tears to damn you
When jealousy burnsCold cold heart
Hard done by you
Some things look better baby
Just passing throughAnd it’s no sacrifice
Just a simple word
It’s two hearts living
In two separate worlds
But it’s no sacrifice
No sacrifice
It’s no sacrifice at allCold cold heart
Hard done by you
Some things look better baby
Just passing throughAnd it’s no sacrifice
Just a simple word
It’s two hearts living
In two separate worlds
But it’s no sacrifice
No sacrifice
It’s no sacrifice at allNo sacrifice at all
No sacrifice at all
No sacrifice at all..
