I’ve not got the telly on, Benders upset me, especially after hollypokes

I heard about hollyoakes… everybody was crying on facebook about it!

back to panorama, the crunch of it is we are ALL to blame…. businesses, individuals…. GOVERNMENT.

Seeing small businesses going bankrupt and losing all is hard. Where can they run to?

Well people over spend, I see it like this, if you can’t afford it, save up until you can, fook getting it on a credit card, I have been there and done that shyte, never again.

All this keeping up with the Jone’s when kids in this world are starving gets right on my hoots! :x

yep, but where do respectable banks get off offering 125% mortgages to people who can barely afford it?

The spokesmen for that corner said “we’d rather people borrowed on one loan so they can furnish rather than borrow extra on credit cards etc”, and as for self certificate wages signatures…. what a bloody mess!

yes irresponsible borrowing, but when did the government step in to stop irresponsible lending??

Im sick of my job….. seeing more and more people losing their homes, and for once its not tenants playing the system, its legitimate people who strive. It doesnt make it easier to deal with, it makes it damn hard. I bloody hate it.

Sharon, why would the joe public decide they want a mortgage knowing full well they can’t afford it?

Like it said, it’s everyones fault.

Same with all those loan people like provvy and staybrite or what ever they are called, irresponsible and plain cruel. :x

and all encouraged under the government.

who would have thought when we was growing up that a company likr Barclays would go crawling on their knees to the government?

And what about those near pension age who got wrongly advised endowment mortgages only to find out they are gonna have to work a further decade to make up the shortfall to meet their mortgage and pensions?

that could be me and you one day Sian…. scary thought innit.

I am so careful with money now, I didn’t care at one time, go and spend, spend, spend! I think it’s come from my days on the social, having to watch every penny.

It’s todays society, where are the days gone that you had your sofas until they were worn out, not changed because it’s not fashionable anymore, my mate changes her whole decor from top to toe every year, I said, can’t you find better things to spend your money on? She replies yeah but… my mate got one of these last week and I loved it…Had to have it, angers me to the hilt I tell ya!

well the spending has stopped. only those that can actually afford are spending hence the crunch.

yes we were all stupid but at the same time stupidly encouraged by a government endorsed financial institution.

the worst cases we are seeing are those who are private tenants.

the pay their rent on time every month to their landlords, but the landlords arent passing it on to the mortgage lenders.

the first the tenants know about it is normally when the bailiffs visit giving them 7 days to get out and they aint got a legal leg to stand on.

Its not always individuals either, sometimes they are long term tenants with families and the owner of the house has re-mortgaged for a silly amount but guaranteed it on that property.

    more homeless people.

    dee

That’s terrible about the provate tenants sharon, can’t believe people can be so cruel!

Anyway, about the other situaiton, I can understand to a certain extent that the government and financial institutions have contributed to the problem, but at the end of the day, if the demand was not there, then they would not be lending that amount. I do think it is down to the individuals who borrow the money. At the end of the day, THEY signed for that money. They will have most definately have sat down with their partner/parents and decided that although it would be tight, they could afford it, when truth be known, they could no way afford it.
