well as sum may know, Im allergic to nearly everything…!!! but my main 1’s are PERFUME and Laytex type 1 and 4, inwhich I have to use an epee pen… I used to use simple shampoo’s n conditioners, as was really the only 1 available which I didnt react to, for the last 6mths Ive been using Naturelle shampoo n cond, but the last mth its really dried my scalp oot plus the kids… so now lookin for something else try…. but my point to this thread, is, its hard to stay completly perfume free, and products r either effin expenisve as, or r basically crap, like washing powder we have used eco green stuff which stated perfume free, which I took a reaction and worst it was dear as, then we use surcare but it only comes in 15wash packets, whilest we were in australia, there’s loads of perfume free products, even BOLD/DAZ washing powders.. but they don’t make it over here, now before someone says, why not write to the companys which we have, not even a remote reply..!! just wondering if anyone else suffers from allergys which do put then at risk..??
but what I will say is even my pals whom know Im highly allergic still insits on sprayin their products near me..!!! then sayin oh I 4got… lol whilest im gaspin for air..!!
29 September, 2008 at 3:56 pm #376417Och Mary, that must be hellish for you, I can empathise to some degree as I had breathing problems back in the early nineties and was on inhalers for over a year whilst my doc swithered over whether or not I had asthma or an allergic reaction.
We never did find out what was closing up my airways..I had all the usual tests..and I was certainly allergic to grass pollens and yeast.
In all probability, my problems were psychosimatic, but the restricted airways and gasping for breath were very real.
Perhaps if my boyfriend had let go of my throat huh?29 September, 2008 at 4:20 pm #376418Since getting pregnant I have found I am sensitive to dust. My nose twitches like mad when I am near alot of it, and occassionally my eyes become itchy and sore. I’m hoping this will pass once the baby is born.
29 September, 2008 at 4:45 pm #376419I impromptly found out that I was allergic to pistachios, it was not a pleasent experience to say the least. That’s the only real thing that I’m violently allergic to, despite having hayfever and being asthmatic

29 September, 2008 at 7:55 pm #376424I am with you Mary, I have Stevens Johnsons Syndrome, this makes me allergic to lots of medication.
I can’t use certain wash powders and used fairy until I discovered I could use Bold Lavander and Camomile, for some reason it doesn’t react with my skin regardless of it being perfumed :?
Just lately I seem to be having to have lots of antihistamines as my breathing seems short at times and I get rashy hands.Anyways, have you recently tried other wash powers? I didn’t used to be able to use bold but now with the lavender and camomile, I am fine. Just a thought.
